How Palworld Breeding Works

Every Pal in Palworld carries a hidden Breeding Power value. When you breed two Pals at a Breeding Farm, the game averages their Power values, then finds the Pal on the chart whose Power is closest to that average — that Pal is the offspring. Ties always resolve in favor of the lower Power (the rarer Pal).

For example, crossing Chikipi (Power 1500) with Jetragon (Power 100) targets Power 800, producing an Ice Reindrix (Power 800). Cross two high-power commons like Chikipi (1500) and Lamball (1490) and you'll get another common — in that case, Lamball at 1490, because the average (1495) sits just below the midpoint. The mechanic rewards deliberate pairing: breed downward toward rarity by consistently using parents on the same side of your target.

Two more layers matter. Passive skills inherit probabilistically from the parents' combined skill pool — each skill has about a 45–55% shot per hatch, with a small chance of mutation into the child species' own skill set. Stack high-value S-tier passives (Ferocious, Lucky, Artisan, Celestial) over multiple generations by always keeping your best-Skill offspring as the next parent. IVs (Individual Values, 0–100 per stat) bracket between the parents — offspring IVs for HP, Attack, Defense, and Work Speed typically land within 5 points below the lower parent and 5 above the higher one, so over many generations you can push all four IVs toward 100.
